KEMIRA SPECIALTY changes company name back to previously held TRI-K INDUSTRIES, INC.

Northvale, NJ, December 3, 2008 – Effective December 10, 2008, Kemira Specialty, Inc will revert to its previously held name, TRI-K Industries, Inc. The company is a leading distributor of ingredients to the cosmetics and personal care industry headquartered in New Jersey, with additional operations in New Hampshire.

Sachtleben announces price increases for barium hydroxide

(Duisburg, November 18, 2008) Sachtleben has today announced an increase in its prices for barium hydroxide mono- and octahydrate products. This price adjustment partially offsets continuing cost increases for raw materials. Sachtleben is raising prices worldwide for all BaOH grades by 10% with effect from January 1, 2009.

Sachtleben launches high security marking concept

Worldwide losses caused by product piracy are estimated at some 300 billion Euro annually and rising. To counteract this creeping trend, and provide permanent and reliable protection for intellectual property, Sachtleben can now supply an innovative marking concept for materials (such as polymers, for example) that is irremovable, offers a high level of anti-copying security, and can be detected only using special analytical procedures. These particles are suitable for use at the highest (forensic) security level.

Sachtleben announces price increase for titanium dioxide

Sachtleben announces price increases for titanium dioxide and barium sulfate.

Sachtleben Chemie GmbH, of Duisburg, Germany, today announced that it is increasing its prices for pigmentary titanium dioxide grades (rutile and anatase types) and for all synthetic barium sulfate grades with effect from July 15, 2008. The move is intended to balance out at least partially the drastic recent increases in costs for raw materials, energy and transport.

The future looks blue..

... for Sachtleben's latest generation of rutile pigments for the plastics and plastics-processing industry. Sachtleben has achieved the breakthrough in developing, in the form of its organically and inorganically surface coated and micronized "HOMBITAN VP RXX-K" innovation, a rutile pigment with a pronounced bluish hue in these coloured applications.
